How To Care For Glass Awards

When you look at a glass award or a collection of glass awards that you have been given you feel a sense of pride so it’s only normal that you would want them to look their best, shiny and clean in all their glistening glory. Trophies are earned through hard work and dedication so make sure they stay looking as good as new.
Crystal and glass awards look beautiful, elegant and expensive as they sparkle and reflect light from their display position. Unlike metal trophies they don’t corrode over time, instead, when looked after properly, they can sparkle and glitz for years to come. In this article we give you some top tips on how you can care for your glass award;
When cleaning your glass award use a soft cloth as a coarse cloth or brush will scratch the delicate surface of the glass award which may not be seen at first but can accumulate dirt and grime then discolour over time.
Before adding any cleaning solution to the glass award, use the dry cloth to remove any surface dirt from the glass award and base, then get a clean cloth and apply the cleaner solution to it and gently clean the glass award.
Never spray the cleaning solution onto the glass award directly, instead spray it onto a clean sloth and then wipe the glass award or trophy. If you do not have a cleaning solution use a mix of lukewarm water and mild dishwashing agent or a glass cleaner, these will clean the award perfectly. You can even use a commercial glass cleaner, like window cleaner or multi-surface cleaner as this won’t remove the etching.
You’ve work hard to win your glass award and you want it to look its best for years to come, so that it can be admired by the generations long after it was received. Following the tips above will ensure that you will be able to maintain the brilliant and shine of your glass awards for many years to come.
