Ice Hockey Trophies – Did You Know?

Ice Hockey Trophies – Did You Know?
Trophies and awards are given for many reasons, from school achievement awards to player of the year awards in sports, from long serving awards within companies to best new comer in corporate award ceremonies. Lots of trophies and awards are being given out for a wide range of reasons.
The team here at Fen Regis Trophies have been reading the Guinness Book of World Records, scouring for various facts and records held in regards to trophies and awards. We are currently going through a period when our best selling trophies and awards are glass trophies and glass awards at present so we thought we would focus on some trophies records that would be well suited to glass trophies or glass awards.
So let’s get started;
Did You Know the world record for the most ice hockey Jack Adams Trophies is held by Pat Burns who has won a Jack Adam Trophy three times.
The Jack Adams Trophy is awarded to an ice hockey coach who is deemed to have contributed the most to the success of his team each NHL Season. Pat Burns broke the world record in January 1998 after winning the award with three different teams. Pat Burns won the trophy for the first time with the Montreal Canadiens in 1989 and then in 1993 he won the trophy again with the Toronto Maple Leafs and then he won the trophy for the third time, to break the world record, with the Boston Bruins in 1998. The Jack Adams Trophy is currently a large silver trophy engraved with the names of the winning coaches.
Did You Know Wayne Gretsky holds the world record for the most ice hockey Art Ross Trophies, further to winning the trophy a whopping ten times.
The Art Ross Trophy is awarded to the player who has scored the highest amount of points in NHL regular season play. The Art Ross Trophy is awarded once a year and has been awarded to Canadian ice hockey player Wayne Gretsky ten times between 1981 and 1984. It is a silver bowl trophy on a wooden plinth with names of all previous winners engraved on it.
Large metal trophies are great as a show of all previous winners, but unless you are lucky to win the trophy three times like Pat Burns or even ten times like Wayne Gretsky you only get to have the trophy in your home for one year. Wouldn’t it be great if winners of large awards like this were given a glass trophy or glass award as a keepsake so they can show off their award for years to come?
